Share Research Findings with LAUSD

How can my team share our research with LAUSD leaders?
Your team can share findings from your research with your practitioner team or during a Research-Practice Partnership (RPP) working group meeting. To read about how to acknowledge LAERI in research products, scroll down.

You can share findings from your research with your practitioner team at any time. We recommend meeting with your practitioner team at least once every six months to share what you are learning. When you schedule a meeting with your practitioner team, please copy the LAERI email account (laeri@g.ucla.edu) for our awareness.

Once you have findings that are more final (e.g., you’ve shared them with your practitioner team and refined your analyses), you can schedule a time to present during an RPP working group meeting. The RPP working group includes district leaders from several district divisions and departments. If you are interested in presenting at an RPP working group meeting, please send the following to Carrie Miller (cemiller@g.ucla.edu) and Meredith Phillips (meredith.phillips@g.ucla.edu):

  • A brief description of what you’d like to present
  • A ballpark estimate of when you’d like to present (e.g., late spring) and any dates that do not work for you
  • A list of individuals you’d like to make sure are available to attend the meeting (e.g., key members of your practitioner team, key research assistants, a representative from a department that might be interested in your work), so that we can include them in the scheduling process

Report/articles:

This research project is affiliated with the Los Angeles Education Research Institute and has benefited from its research and partnership infrastructure.

Acknowledging use of statistical code from the LAERI archive for products that identify LAUSD:

We thank [Authors/PI] for sharing statistical code they wrote for their LAERI-affiliated research project. The code they shared [constructs measures of…]. Their research using this code appears in [citation].

Example: We thank Leonard Wainstein, Carrie Miller, Meredith Phillips, Kyo Yamashiro, and Tatiana Melguizo for sharing statistical code they developed for their LAERI-affiliated research project that constructed a measure of students’ academic self-efficacy. Their research using this code appears in Wainstein et al. (2023).

Acknowledging use of statistical code from the LAERI archive for products that do not identify LAUSD:

We thank [Authors/PI] for sharing statistical code that [constructs measures of…]. Their research using this code appears in [citation].
