Jannelle Dang is an undergraduate student at UCLA studying Cognitive Science and Education. Jannelle is interested in educational equity and access for underrepresented communities and K-12 policy. She is conducting research on students’ experiences during remote learning and is part of the data management team, which cleans and documents data in the LAERI archive.
Sabrina is an undergraduate student at UCLA in the Luskin School of Public Affairs. Sabrina is interested in the impacts of health and housing inequities on child development. At LAERI, she is conducting research on Los Angeles County schools and is part of the data management team, which cleans and documents data in the LAERI archive.

Carrie is a doctoral candidate in Education at UCLA. Her research focuses on educational inequality. At LAERI, she coordinates the data management and communications teams, onboards new research projects, and serves as a senior analyst for LAERI research projects.
Annika Park is a UCLA undergraduate student majoring in Applied Linguistics. Annika is interested in speech-language pathology. She is part of the communications team and helps design LAERI publications and promote LAERI’s work.

Leonard Wainstein is a doctoral candidate at UCLA in Statistics. His research focuses on Causal Inference. As a research fellow, Leonard works on the twelfth-grade math course taking project.
Rachel recently graduated with an MPP from the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs. She is interested in poverty and educational inequality. At LAERI, Rachel works as a data manager to maintain and update data in the LAERI archive and serves as a research analyst for various projects with LAERI affiliates.

About Dr. Kho
Adam Kho is an Assistant Professor of Education Policy and Leadership at the University of Southern California, Rossier School of Education. His research focuses on K-12 school reform including school turnaround, schools of choice, and other education policies affecting traditionally underserved students. He is currently working on a project exploring LA Unified’s alternative schools and understanding the conditions that best promote alternative school student success.

About Dr. Melguizo
Dr. Melguizo is a Professor in the USC Rossier School of Education. She received a Ph.D. in Economics of Education from Stanford University and a M.A. in Social Policy from the London School of Economics. She works in the field of economics of higher education. She uses rigorous quantitative methods of analysis to study the relationship of different factors, educational programs, as well as public policies on the persistence and educational outcomes of minority and low-income students.
