Riley Ceperich
Riley Ceperich is a PhD student in the Department of Sociology at UCLA studying gender, race, and education. Her research interests developed as an undergraduate Sociology major at Northwestern University, culminating in a thesis that assessed the implementation of a racial equity initiative in a California school district. After graduating from Northwestern, Riley was involved in various projects that explored racial inequities in K-12 schools. At UCLA, Riley is currently pursuing a project that examines the ways LA stand-up comedians portray gender and race in their comedy sets and in turn, how audiences receive these portrayals. She is also involved in a project that explores the ways employers perceive the time constraints of parenthood and how their perceptions differ based on employees’ race, gender, and sexuality.
