Melanie is a doctoral student in UCLA’s Department of Education. She studies early childhood education and her research explores ways to build equitable, high-quality early learning opportunities for young children. In particular, she is interested in how teacher wellbeing and professional learning are connected to early education quality and children’s development. Prior to entering graduate school, Melanie worked as an early educator and school counselor in Los Angeles schools.
